Miscellaneous Heavy Equipment For Underground Mines

From the previous discussion we have to know about the various kinds of heavy equipment available and frequently used and we see everyday. But very rarely do we see the equipment used in the work of the existing mine underground or Underground Mining.

Then we will discuss some of the heavy equipment used for underground mine workings as follows:

Continuous Miner

Continuous Miner is a machine with a large rotating steel drum and equipped with tungsten carbide teeth that scrape coal from the curve. Operating in the system "room and pillar", where the mine is divided into a series of "rooms" of 20 to 30 feet or work areas cut into 'coal bed', can mine as much as five tons of coal per minute.

Haul Truck Underground Mining

Underground Truck is one of the means of conveyance used to transport material in the mine underground mines. Type and its mechanism of action is almost similar to truck in open pit mine but in a smaller form because it adapted to its area of operations.

Scooptram or often called the Underground Loader is equipment designed for the operation of clearing the runway underground mines and transporting materials. The form is designed short is intended to be easy to maneuver in the basement.

Shotcreter

Shotcreter is mechanical shotcrete spraying system developed specifically for application support underground soil. Shotcrete concrete (or sometimes mortar) is brought through a pneumatic hose and then projected at high speed onto the surface, as construction techniques. Shotcrete do placement and compaction at the same time because of the power projected from the nozzle. It can affect to any type or form of surfaces, including vertical or overhead areas.
